WATER's EDGE

BEHIND THE NAME
When I decided, after discovering the our Kingdoms Eternal marathon, that I wanted to make a Collective, I knew that the first things I needed to do were to decide on a name and a theme, and whichever I settled on first would help me figure out the other.
I had no real inspiration for the the name, so I started by looking at some colour palettes to inform the theme. I searched through a few featuring some of my favourite colours, though I decided to rule out purple (my number one) as I have another website project that's already using a purple theme, and I wanted to mix it up a bit. Teal was something I was looking at, but before I settled I had a look at my existing websites colour schemes to help make sure I didn't repeat anything. With teal in the clear I started looking through the palettes available, and settled on this one that made me think of waves on the beach...and so I had my first clue to a name!
"Shoreline" didn't quite sound right, so I started googling similar words and what it was in other languages, ideally hoping for a single word title. I did actually find a site referring to innumerabilis as a latin word for shorline, but couldn't find any substanstiating evidence for it. The terms stuck with me though, I liked the literl sound of it, and the grains of sand on the beach and drops of water in the sea are innumerable, are they not? As are the project ideas I have and move on from. Thus, I have kept this word in mind for a domain (or subdomain) name if I ever get one. It didn't quite fit for a WIX site though.
After failing to find a single word that captured that meaning of where the water meets the land that also sounded right to me, I decided that maybe two words was okay afterall, in fact they could be the 'Network Name' I see so many others having, and so the Water's Edge was born.
THEME
With the name and colour scheme chosen, and the basic website set up, I now had to think about the decorative aspects of the theme. Did I want to go for a general sea theme? Or did I want to bring Sailor Moon into it somehow, like I always do. I knew if I went for a Sailor Moon theme, I would have to use Sailor Neptune because she fits it perfectly, but the truth is I actually don't care for her that much. I don't dislike her, but I'm just not that invested in her, and don't want to give the wrong impression. I actually considered coming up with a new fan senshi with an oceanic style to use instead, but that would of course take too much effort, and I wasn't sure if it would count as a Sailor Moon theme in regards to the Clique I wanted to join. And thus, Sailor Neptune it was.
Credits
Placeholder Neptune images taken from broad Google searches, and I did not note their origins (most were clearly reposts anyway). My intention is to use some high quality scans and cut out some renders to use myself, allowing me to clearly and easily credit where I got those scans from. I had done some minor editing to the ones I use now, and made a few assets myself (the wave under the menu bar, and the bubbles across the site).
